“My son started this school in November of 2020. I decided to unenroll him from a public high school because they had my son at age 18 learning about pennies for math and unable to write a complete sentence for English. I then found House of Academia. In four short months my son went from learning about pennies in Math to completing exponent values. My son went from not understanding how to write a complete sentence to writing a 4 page story(with some grammar errors :-). I could not have been more pleased with my son’s growth in the four short months he’s been with House of Academia. Sophia was so patient with me (concerned mother). She answered all of my questions and reassured me my son will be given the attention he needs and deserves. Thank you Sophia & House of Academia!”
“My son was really challenged in the public school system. Everyday was a struggle for him. Within a few weeks of attending house of Academia he was excited to go to school each morning. This is our second year now and he is thriving with the smaller class size and getting the help he needs to succeed academically.”
“The communication between parents and staff creates a close-knit community where students really feel like they belong and get the support they need to thrive.”
“Our 8 year old has seen a major positive shift upwards in his learning. He came to House of Academia from the Public School system where he was just another student. He was a 2nd grader who was reading and writing at a kindergarten level but tested 3rd grade in math, but was unable to advance further at his previous school for math and was being left behind in reading & writing. After 3 months, he is reading now at a 2nd grade level and he is able to do 3rd grade advanced math as part of his daily curriculum. He has also gained confidence and participates in all reading, writing, and, of course math, classroom conversations. We were skeptical at first because the school was new and small but it has become the best decision and move we ever made for him.”
“I am very happy with the day school & staff members. Everyone is very nice. At first, I was very scared because my child has ADHD and I have tried many schools and non really worked out. But House of Academia’s small setting has really helped my child. He is learning and wanting to go to school. Now, I am more relaxed as I don’t have to worry about teacher’s complaining Or getting calls about my son’s behavior.”
“My son has autism (high function) and a learning disability. He was previously in public school but there wasn’t a program that was attending his needs. I was so excited when I found House of Academia, where he gets the one-on-one attention he needs, and has developed so much since he started! Next school year will be his 3rd year attending the school, and my husband and I are very pleased with them! One other thing that keeps my mind easy is that, when I drop him off there, I know that there will be no bullying. It’s a small school and it’s easier to keep a close eye on that issue, and for being so small, you get to know all the kids and employees. Overall we are very pleased with the school!”
